VMAP International Conference on CAE Interoperability 2020
Interoperability is a significant topic for much of the Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) simulation and analysis sector. Improving accuracy and speed in both product and process design is a constant requirement. A critical factor in this is enabling seamless collaboration between teams, often in different organisations, addressing different simulations and physics. This, however, presents a significant barrier.
The 1st International Conference on Interoperability, organised by the VMAP project, will discuss these issues and more. The conference will take place in Bamberg, Germany, from 13th-14th May 2020, following directly on from the NAFEMS DACH Regional Conference at the same venue.
Focus Areas: Focusing on the many aspects, problems and possible solutions in interoperability including software implementation, simulation process integration, data transfer, standards, ontologies, and collaboration, this will be the first independent, international gathering focusing solely on interoperability.
Call for papers:
The call for papers is now open, and we are welcoming submissions from every industry and region from across the globe. All presentations which are relevant to interoperability within CAE will be welcome, but we are particularly interested in the following topics:
-
Standards for Interfaces and Data Formats
-
Software Solutions supporting Interoperability and Standards
-
Manufacturing Simulation
-
Process Integration and Design Optimization
-
Digital Factories and Digital Twins
Registration and Fee:
Click here VMAP2020 Registration for register online.
Conference is Free of charge for experienced experts, engineers, developers and practitioners in the field. This includes coffee breaks and dinner but does not include hotel accommodation.
The number of participants is therefore strictly limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, with acceptance being solely at the organiser’s discretion.
Participation will be limited to one person per entity; however, additional registrations can be requested from the organisers if necessary.
Abstract Submission and Format:
-
Once registered to submit Abstracts, VMAP organisers will communicate with you for format and other related details.
-
Please send your abstract (300 words) to gino.duffett@nafems.org by January 24th 2020 at the latest. Abstracts must include author name, organisation, address, phone number and email address.

NAFEMS: NAFEMS is the International Association for the Engineering Modelling, Analysis and Simulation Community.
NAFEMS is a not-for-profit organisation which was established in 1983.
NAFEMS focus on the practical application of numerical engineering simulation techniques such the Finite Element Method for Structural Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Multibody Simulation. In addition to end users from all industry sectors, our stakeholders include technology providers, researchers and academics.
